As adoptive parents we recognize the importance in making critical decisions for your family regarding adoption. For this reason, we volunteer out time to offer Free pre-Adoption Consultations to families considerign adoption.

If you are considering adoption and not sure where to begin, we can help. We will review the different types of adoption and how to decide which might be right for you.

Or, if you have decided on an international adoption, and need more information about the adoption process or assistance in selecting a country, we can review the materials with you and provide assistance with evaluating them.

Ordering Vital Records
Even if you are completing your own dossier, you will still need to order vital records. If you are not sure how to order vital records or if is simply a time management issue, we can help.

All you have to do is call or e-mail us the states involved, number and type of documents (marriage, birth, etc.) and we will give you a quote. Our fee is $35.00 for documents originating in two states, and $5.00 per each addtional state, plus the exact cost of documents and estimated shipping.

This service includes ordering your vital stastics, writing checks/money orders to pay for, cost of shipping, and having them notarized and certifed or apostilled. All you have to do is send us the info and write one check.

Agency Research Assistance
What agency should I use? How do I decide which country to adopt from? How do programs and fees compare. What are advantages and disadvantages of each? These are common questions that pre-adoptive families have. Adobaby, LLC can assist you in finding these answers through our Agency Research Assistance program.

You provide Adobaby with up to three agency's names and we will gather the information packets and create a personalized Cost and Services Comparison to aid you in your research. If you don’t have three names we can steer you in the right direction based on the information you provide us on the Adoptive Parent Profile. In addition to the three agencies you choose, Adobaby may provide an additional one or two agencies in the comparison for a total of up to five agencies.

Once the analysis is completed, families will either meet in office or via conference call for an overview of materials. This includes:

Notarization of Documents
South Carolina Residents Only

We are able to provide notarization of most international adoption dossier documents at our office or at a mutually agreed upon location: place of business, physician office, sheriff/police department doctor's appointments, etc. (South Carolina clients only)
Standard Notarial Acts- $5 per signature, Signature fees are waived for all prospective adoptive families.
Traveling Fees are additional- $1.00 per mile, $10.00 Minimum round trip from our office in South Carolina.

South Carolina Notary commission expires February 2, 2014

Emergency Courier Services
Available from the Upstate of South Carolina to the South Carolina Secretary of States Office in Columbia, South Carolina for the same day service of apostilles or certification of urgent documents.

Adobaby must receive documents by 7:00 pm to process the following business day. Due to scheduling conflicts; Adobaby may, at times be unavailable to provide this service. Contact by telephone to request.

Communication with the Secretary of States (SOS) office is made as soon as possible to confirm staff availability. At times this confirmation may not be available until after Adobaby is en route to Columbia. Should Adobaby be unable to obtain apostilles or certifications due to staffing issues at the SOS office, a pro-rated refund may be given.

Should the SOS deny an apostille or certification because documents have been completed incorrectly, client is ineligible for refund, but reduced fees for a subsequent trip to the SOS may apply.
